The first game of the season saw Rovers beat Walsall by three goals to nil at the Banks’s Stadium. Goals from Chris Brown and Kyle Bennett, as well as a wonder goal from David Cotterill saw off the West Midlands side.
Who are Bury FC?
The Shakers were formed in 1885 as a combination of the Bury Weslians and Bury Utilitarians. They play their home games at Gigg Lane and have since their formation, beating Wigan in September 1885 by 4 goals to 3 in the opening game.
Bury are currently managed by Peter Shirtliff, who is in caretaker charge following the departure of Richie Barker to Crawley.
Their last game saw them draw 0-0 with Brentford at Gigg Lane, leaving them 12 places below Rovers in the League One table.
Both Neil Sullivan and Shelton Martis are still unavailable through injury while Paul Keegan is struggling with a hip injury. Gary Woods looks likely to retain his place between the sticks despite rumours of a possible move for Nicky Weaver of Sheffield Wednesday.
Bury have no injury concerns, although defender Efe Sodje will miss out through suspension.
Christopher Sarginson takes charge of Tuesday’s meeting. The Staffordshire official last refereed a Rovers game in September 2011 when Crystal Palace travelled to the Keepmoat.
