The ‘Tykes’ make the short journey East to to the Keepmoat for Rovers’ penultimate friendly.

Following Rovers’ win over Hull City on Tuesday, morale will be high in the Doncaster camp and everyone will be looking to continue the side’s run of good form.

Only Rotherham have managed to beat Rovers this pre-season.

Who are Barnsley?

The ‘Tykes’ were formed in 1887 under the name of Barnsley St Peter’s. They play their home fixtures in Oakwell, Barnsley.

Barnsley have been in the Championship since 2005 when they were promoted through the Play-Offs. They have appeared in the Premier League for a single season, being relegated in 1998.

Their current manager is Keith Hill and they finished in 21st position last season in the Championship.

Assistant manager Brian Carey confirmed yesterday that Billy Paynter is training with Rovers and may feature in tomorrow’s friendly. The Keepmoat side haven’t signed anyone new this week following the introduction of Rob Jones on Tuesday.
