Match Action

First Half

Going into the game, Doncaster Rovers sat in 9th spot with their hosts in 7th.

It was Rovers who started the brightest, with Martin Woods and Chris Brown striking against the keeper in the 2nd minute. Sheffield United then raced to the opposite end but Richard Cresswell’s effort cleared the crossbar.

Both sides had attacks that came to no avail in the remainder of the first half. United tested Gary Woods on a number of attacks, who pulled off some fantastic saves.

The sides went into the break with honours even.

Second Half

The home side started the second half on the front foot, and continued to dominate throughout the half. A great double save from Woods denied what should have been a certain goal from on form Neil Blackman.

Not much to report on from the second half, but a solid defensive display from Rob Jones and Jamie McCombe ensured a point for both sides while the Blades were booed off the pitch at full time.

A point each leaves Rovers in 10th spot while Sheffield United sit in 6th.
