Rovers’ defender George Friend has today left the club.
Friend joined Doncaster Rovers during the pre-season before the 2010/11 season from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
During his stay at Rovers, Friend made 60 appearances and scored once. The defender quickly became a fans favourite and captained the side on many occasions.
It was widely reported that there was a lot of interest in the player this summer, and after lengthy talks he has no officially joined Middlesbrough FC.
